  You can request a Louisiana vehicle registration renewal, a duplicate title, or both in the same request. Submit the online form and we confirm exactly what your transaction requires before anything is filed.

• What information do I need to start my order?

  You need your name and contact details, your vehicle year, make, and model, and either your license plate number or the last six digits of your VIN. If something is missing we will follow up with you before we file.

• Do I need proof of insurance to renew my registration?

  Yes. Louisiana requires active liability coverage on record before a registration can be renewed. We verify your coverage as part of processing your request and let you know if anything needs to be updated first.

• How long does an online order take?

  Timing depends on which service you request and what the OMV requires for your specific vehicle. Once we review your request we tell you what to expect, and we keep you updated until your registration or title is ready.

• What if there is a lien recorded on my vehicle?

  A recorded lien can affect how a duplicate title is handled and who receives it. When we review your request we check whether a lien is on record and explain how it applies to your situation before we file anything.

• Do I still have to come into the office?
